Found within Metro Vancouver, the city of Langley originally started as a small settlement for early European Settlers. It was first referred to as the "Innes Corner," which was the name of one of its homesteaders Adam Innes. The place became called "Langley Prairie" during the year 1911, and lots of small communities formed and became the "Langley Township." However, the City of Langley decided to separate from this so as to follow its urban expansion It became a metropolis during the year 1955.
